THE
CLEARING
For the work that has been circling for too long.
For experienced creatives, founders and senior professionals ready to give one important project proper attention. This is for the proposal, company, book, career move, body of work or next chapter that has become too important to keep fitting around the edges of ordinary life.
You arrive as the author, creator or originator of one project. You leave with a clearer proposition, sharper language, serious peer advocacy, practical next steps, an accountability partner and a small board of advisors who can help shepherd the project into existence.
Why The Clearing?
Some work cannot be advanced properly in the margins of ordinary life. The Clearing gives you protected time, expert guidance and serious peer perspective in a focused residential setting.
- 20 people maximum
- Private bedroom and private bathroom
- Confidentiality agreement signed by everyone
- Accountability partner assigned during the residency
- Private delegate network after the residency
The work
Across the residency, every participant learns to describe the project through one clear frame:
- Who the project is for
- What problem it solves
- Why that problem matters now
- How to describe the project in one line
- What the project achieves for the audience, buyer or reader
The method
The residency begins by identifying the enemies of progress: the voices, habits and protective strategies that delay, dilute or keep the project private for too long.
You then work with four helpful voices every project needs. Across the residency, other delegates will advocate for your project through these lenses, so you can hear the work from outside your own head.
Programme at a glance
Day One: See the project clearly

Day Two: Make the project easier to trust
Name the project, meet the helpful voices, clarify who it is for, what problem it solves, the one-line sell, peer advocacy sessions and dinner.
Day Three: Build the path forward
Clarify what the project achieves, build the longer description, identify your board of advisors, accountability and follow-through, final speed pitching and farewell tea.
